DUBOIS – The DuBois Area School District recognized Mary London Wednesday night. London spearheaded and assisted the district’s Make-A-Wish campaign.
London works for the school district as a bus driver with Clipper Bus Services.
The Make-A-Wish foundation grants wishes to children between the ages of two-and-a-half and 18 that have life threatening conditions. The school district brought in $40,863.70 this year towards the Make-A-Wish foundation. Since 1994 the district donated through its campaigns $235 thousand, and this has helped grant the wishes of 69 children, which London has assisted with..
“The out pouring of love from this community just has been great,” said Pam Miller Renwick, Regional Director of the Make-A-Wish foundation. “And Mary is one of those who spear headed it.”
Renwick was at the school board meeting to accept the recognition on behalf of London who wasn’t present.
