CLEARFIELD – Work on PennDOT’s state Route 879/Lick Run bridge project in Lawrence Township is continuing and a detour around the work will go into effect April 6. PennDOT expects the detour to be in place through late July.
The detour will direct southbound and westbound motorists to use SR 970 south to Interstate 80 west and back to SR 879. Eastbound and northbound motorists will follow I-80 east to SR 970 north and back to SR 879. SR 879 will remain open westbound to Stiner Road and eastbound to the Sapp Brothers Truck Stop.
Work hours on the project are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. The work zone is located between the Clearfield I-80 interchange and the village of Shawville. Signage is in place to alert motorists to detour and work conditions. Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College is the contractor on the $11.6 million project.
PennDOT reminds motorists to move through all work zones with caution, obey posted speed limits and detour signs and always buckle up.
