ERIE – Several area wrestlers will trek to Erie for Friday and Saturday\’s Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling State Championships.
Competition in the three age groups (10 and under, 11-12, 13-14) will be held at the Lou Tullio Arena beginning Friday at 9:00 a.m. and culminating with the Parade of Champions at 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
Clearfield and Curwensville wrestlers qualified for the state championships with their performances at Smethport in the Area V championships on March 14.
Looking for the gold from Clearfield will be Logan Gilbert and Travis Ogden in the 10 & under age group, Patrick Graham in the 11-12 age group and Jake Lancaster, Dylan Graham, Christian Stone, and Nolan Barger in the 13-14 division.
The last Clearfield state champion was Matt Kyler in 2003.
Curwensville hopefuls are Ricky Magnuson and Austin Bloom in the 11-12 age group and Jake Keller and Hunter McCracken in the 13-14 age group.
The last Curwensville state champion was Nick Sipes in 2003.
