ALTOONA — Last Friday night the Bisons were riding high after winning their 20th game of the season in blowout fashion over visiting Ridgway. Unfortunately for Clearfield they found out Monday night what it was like to be on the bottom end of a blowout as Altoona defeated the Bisons in their regular season finale 76 -43.
The Bisons found themselves trailing from the start as Altoona jumped out to a 10-2 run before a timeout just minutes into the game. The Mountain Lions then proceeded to go on an 18-5 run to close out the period. The Bisons found themselves in a 21 point deficit that they were unable to over come.
The Bisons did play much better in the second half, but it was too little to late as Altoona at times increased the lead to over 40 points.
Parker Herrington lead the Bisons with 14 points while Matt Shiner chipped in with 11. Clearfield’s second leading scorer on the season, Jarrin Campman, was held to only seven points in the contest spending a majority of the game being covered by gimmick box and one defenses keying on him.
The Bison will now face either Bradford or Punxsutawney next Tuesday in the first round of the District 9 AAA playoffs at Clearfield’s Arthur J. Weiss Gymnasium with time to be announced.
