DUBOIS — DuBois extended their draught to seven games, as Bellefonte traveled to DuBois and beat the Beavers 77-69.
It has been a very hard season for the DuBois Area Beavers. The losing seasons in the last three years have been crippling to a DuBois school that performs well in most other sports. At times this season the Beavers have shown their heart, they have played until the buzzer, and they have done the best they can do given the team\’s circumstance.
I’m sure when new head coach Scott Creighton took over that he knew this would be a tough process and it seems from a crowd perspective that he does motivate the Beavers to do their best. Next years 10th graders will be trained in the Creighton system to get used to all plays and schemes in following years.
Monday night was another game that the Beavers tried to control. It wasn’t enough as Bellefonte sprung out ahead of the Beavers in a solid effort to win. With so many different aspects of the game the Beavers seem to nail all of them when they play catch up, they just come up short most of the time.
The DuBois Beavers cannot stress enough about rebuilding next season. With one game left against the Brookville Raiders who are 3-16, DuBois enters at 3-18, with a seven game losing streak. Brookville is one of the only teams DuBois has defeated this year in the Holiday Tournament.
Brookville has lost nine in a row. So in short, one of the teams losing streaks will be snapped Wednesday, February 11 as the Beavers travel for the last time this season at the Raiders.
