CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Community Christmas Dinner will enter its second decade this year with a look back and stronger embrace of its original intent of bringing people together to feed their bodies and souls.
A turkey dinner with all the trimmings for an estimated 500 people will be served in the Clearfield Presbyterian Church’s Westminster Hall from 3-5 p.m. on Dec. 25. Take outs and deliveries to shut ins only will also be available, according to Mark Dymond, chair of the event’s planning committee.
“Eleven years ago, the original organizers set this event in motion to provide a beautiful Christmas experience for anyone who needed it, especially those who were going to be alone that day, Dymond said.
“We’ve found, over the years that some are using the dinner as a free catering and delivery service. While we would never, ever deny anyone – we don’t care about circumstances – we hope more people will come and join us here at the church for a beautiful, meaningful way of celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior.”
Dinners are free, but donations are accepted. Financial contributions from the public are always welcome to defray costs, Dymond said.

Deliveries to shut ins only will begin at 11:30 a.m. Take outs will be available at 1 p.m. To arrange delivery, call Beth Hallstrom, 765-6352, or the church office.
