CLEARFIELD- Police across the state will be adding extra patrols and checkpoints during the holidays to reduce impaired and aggressive driving as well as to increase seat belt use.
Additional police departments will be participating this year due to the Buckle Up PA grant from the Department of Transportation.
The police departments, which all recently signed up, include Lock Haven, Pine Creek Township, St. Mary’s, Bradford City and Bellefonte Borough. These departments will participate in the “Click it or Ticket” seat belt enforcement initiative that started Nov. 17 and runs through Dec. 7.
The best way to avoid a ticket – or worse – is by driving defensively, never riding with anyone who is impaired and always wearing your seat belt.
PennDOT wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season. Drive as though your life depends on it.
