DECATUR TOWNSHIP – State police in Clearfield reported a fatal accident that occurred on Friday morning along state Route 2018/Copelin road.
According to police 91-year-old Nick Rayko of Osceola Mills was traveling east on Copelin Road when he lost control of his vehicle. He traveled off of the road and struck a small embankment and tree. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest in the center of Copelin Road.
Rayko was pronounced dead at the scene by Clearfield County Deputy Coroner Michael Polochik. According to police he was not wearing his seat belt.
Police were assisted by Hope Fire Company, Chester Hill Fire Company and MoValley Emergency Medical Services.
