CLEARFIELD – The Lawrnece Township Police Department has released an update into the status of a 6-year-old girl who was struck by a Jeep.
Police stated that the girl is now in stable condition.
GantDaily reported Tuesday that the child was riding an electric powered Bella Razor scooter. Police stated that she pulled into the path of a Jeep driven by a Clearfield woman in the parking lot at Edgewood Apartments. The woman applied her breaks but was unable to stop before striking the child.
The girl was transported by Clearfield Emergency Medical Services and was later airlifted to Pittsburgh for treatment of major injuries at the Children’s Hospital..
The driver of the Jeep was uninjured.
Police stated on Wednesday that the investigation is ongoing.
