After starting the season 5-0, the Johnsonburg Rams have been defeated by Kane and Brockway the last two weeks by a combined score of 64-28. The Rams will attempt to get back on track this Friday night, but to do so they will have to take down the high-powered offense of the Curwensville Golden Tide.
Curwensville is coming off a 22-12 victory over Elk County Catholic; a game that was led by the superb play of quarter back David Kalgren. Kalgren was 10 of 13 for 124 yards against the Crusaders, including three touchdowns and no interceptions. He was also responsible for the game\’s only turnover as he got his eighth interception on the season late in the game. Expect to see Jed Greslick and Jesse Hoover to have a major role once more in the Golden Tide\’s offensive attack.
Johnsonburg is hoping to rebound from a devastating 34-28 loss to Brockway. Leading rusher for the Rams is quarter back Ren Yonker, who is averaging nearly 11 yards per carry on the season including five touchdowns. In order for Johnsonburg to win, it will have to rely on the running game. Look for Yonker and running back Zane Zelehoski to have big roles in the Rams offensive scheme.
Kickoff between these two squads is set for 7 p.m. Friday night.
