OSCEOLA MILLS – The Clearfield fall baseball team doubled its win total with a 9-2 and 14-4 sweep of West Branch in five-inning games Saturday afternoon.
A home double-header with DuBois was rained out Sunday.
Aaron Sayers and Tyler Jacobson pitched complete games for Clearfield, Sayers hurling a three-hitter in the opener for his first win and Jacobson spinning a six-hitter for his second victory.
Sayers also led manager Sid Lansberry\’s team at the plate in the first game with a home run, a single and two runs batted in. Garrett Samsel had a pair of hits, one a double, and Tanner St. Clair added a triple.
In the nightcap, Sayers rapped three hits, one a double, while Isaac Butler drove in four runs with a single and a double. St Clair singled and doubled. Justin Hoffman chipped in two RBIs.
Brandon Myers led West Branch with a single and homer, good for three RBIS. Dylan Corl had a single and a double.
Because a game with Brookville has been canceled, Clearfield (4-11) will meet Moshannon Valley in a 1 p.m. twinbill at the Lawrence Township Rec Park Field Sunday.
