The biggest question for the Bisons entering the season was at the wide receiver position, but Trey Campman and Brandon Sass have come up huge through the first two contests. The youngest of the Campman Clan has caught 17 balls for 196 yards and a touchdown, while Sass has caught 3 balls for 106 yards and a touchdown. Sophomores Derek Danver and Derek Morgan have also produced solid numbers. Danver is second on the team in catches with 7 for 100 yards, while the younger Morgan brother filling in for his injured brother last week averaged nearly six yards a carry in the second half.
On the opposing side of the ball, the Indian Valley Warriors are led by quarterback Jacob Stroehecker who has completed 12 of 22 passes for 3 touchdowns, while also rushing twice for 1 touchdown. Strohecker’s favorite target has been Cody Battista who has hauled in 5 catches for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns out of the backfield. The Warrior backfield is led by the trio of Nikolas Myers, Mitch Fultz, and Battista. Fultz and Battista are both averaging well over five yards a carry, and Myers and Fultz both have rushing touchdowns on the year.
This should be an interesting game if the past holds true again Friday night as kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Clearfield Bisons Sports Complex.
