CLEARFIELD – The District 8 Prep Tournament trail begins Friday for two of the Clearfield Babe Ruth League\’s three all-star teams.
Clearfield\’s 14-year-olds will travel to State College to meet West End of Williamsport in a 7:30 p.m. game at Spectrum Field, the site for all action through the loser\’s bracket finals.
Potter/McKean and State College meet in the 4:30 opener.
On Saturday, the first-day losers play at 11 a.m. and the winners meet at 2 p.m.
The loser\’s bracket final at 5 p.m. will set the championship game, booked for Sunday at 1 p.m. at Airport Field. If another game is necessary, it will start at 4.
Three of the four teams will qualify for the state tourney, with host West End and regional tourney host State College already guaranteed berths.
Clearfield\’s 13-year-olds will go to Williamsport for districts, with all games to be played at Logue Field.
Friday afternoon\’s opening round pits Clearfield against West End at 1 o\’clock and State College against Potter/McKean at 4.
The losers play at 11 a.m. and the losers play at 2 p.m. on Saturday, with the loser\’s bracket final at 5.
Sunday\’s championship game will begin at 1 p.m. If another game is needed, it will start at 4.
