Clearfield Bank & Trust got its second strong pitching performance in as many games on Thursday, following Tyler Knepp\’s complete game win on Tuesday.
Curtis Frye pitched a complete game – a 12 strikeout, five hit performance for a win over Collins Masonry.
Collins struck early in the top of 1st with a Luke Peterson triple and he later scored on an error. Then CB&T scored in the bottom of the first with a Curtis Frye double and Jon Palumbo followed with an RBI single to knot it up 1 to 1 going into the second inning.
Collins took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the 4th, but CB&T broke the game open scoring four runs on four hits in their half of the inning. CB&T then scored two runs in the 5th inning and four runs in the 6th to make the score 11-2 heading to the top of the 7th.
Collins rallied for three runs in the last frame, to make the final 11-5 CB&T.
Curtis Frye went 4 for 4 with two doubles, three runs scored and Jonathon Palumbo had three hits with three RBI\’s. CB&T\’s record is now 6-5.
