STRONGSTOWN – A fatal crash early Saturday morning on state Route 22
killed one man and put Dog Hollow Speedway street stock driver John Kinsey
and his wife, Pamela in the hospital with unknown injuries.
According to the state police, Terry Rhine, 58 of Homer City crossed the
center line about 12:15 a.m. and sideswiped a vehicle and careened off that
vehicle and struck the Kinsey vehicle head-on. Police said Mr. Kinsey was
trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters. The
Kinsey\’s were first taken to Latrobe Hospital then transferred to UPMC
Hospital in Pittsburgh where Mr. Kinsey is listed in serious condition and
his wife is in critical condition.
Kinsey had just finished third in the street stock feature at Dog Hollow
Speedway and was now sitting in fourth place in the point standings. He was
headed home with his racecar in tow when the crash happened.
