CLEARFIELD – Three men accused of stealing beer from a local distributor were arrested.
The Clearfield Borough Police Department reported that it was called to Budget Beverage for a burglary in-progress Thursday night. On scene, officers met with a witness who stated that he observed several men climbing through a hole in a garage door on the south side of the building leading into the building.
The witness said the suspects were still inside the building.
Officers established a perimeter around the building. Two men were taken into custody when they attempted to leave the building from the same hole in the garage door. A third man was taken into custody inside the building. Officers located him attempting to hide.
Police stated that the three attempted to steal three cases of beer.
The men were identified as Joshua Daub, 19 of Clearfield, Cory Reinard, 21 of Clearfield and Eric Hammill, 18 of Olanta.
The three were charged with burglary, criminal attempt to commit theft, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and several summary violations.
They were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Rudella. Hammill’s bail was set at $25,000; Daub’s and Reinard’s bail was set at $10,000.
