CLEARFIELD – Police from across Clearfield County will take part in a traffic safety checkpoint in Sandy Township during the week of May 26.
This is part of the Buckle Up Pennsylvania campaign, and will consist of officers from Clearfield Borough, Lawrence Township, Sandy Township, Curwensville Borough, Morris-Cooper Region, DuBois City and Decatur Township.
Unbuckled motorists passing through the checkpoint will receive warnings and handouts detailing the state seat belt law. Officers will also be looking at drivers licenses, registration and vehicle inspections for other possible violations.
The checkpoint operation coincides with the national Click It or Ticket mobilization, which began on May 12 and ends June 1.
