PHILILPSBURG – The Philipsburg Main Street Program is proud to announce the opening of The Annual Philipsburg Farmers’ Market. The market will take place every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from May 10 through Labor Day weekend in the Moshannon Building Parking Lot located between the former Goodwill and the Finberg Building on Front Street in Historic Downtown Philipsburg.
“We are very pleased that Mr. Varner and other local vendors are continuing the farmer’s market” said Karen Blair, PRC Organization Committee Chairperson “it is an asset to the downtown. This is the fourth year for the market and we are happy to see it continue.”
Locally grown produce, plants, and flowers will be available in season as well as locally made baked goods, jams, jellies, crafts, and more. Market vendors include Varner Farm: locally grown and resale produce; and others. According to market chairperson, Jim Varner, they hope to add other vendors as the season progresses.
Anyone interested in becoming a vendor should contact Jim Varner at 814-339-6005 or Emily at 342-2260. Vendors of prepared foods must have liability insurance and appropriate licenses. The cost is $5.00 per space.
