CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville Rotary Club has pledged to the Curwensville Community Center fund drive.
Rotary members voted to pledge $4,500 over three years to aid in the renovation efforts of the Center’s Board. Dewey Test presented plans to undertake much needed repairs to the building in order for the community to continue to benefit from it’s use.
Test said they hope to make the Center one of the most energy efficient buildings in the county and to reduce energy costs by 70 percent in the building. Geo-thermal heating is being considered as the heat and cooling source. Other phases of the project include replacement of the floor, lighting system, windows, and kitchens.
The budget is $200,000 and Test said that grants are being applied for. However, there is an urgent need to secure pledges from businesses and individuals to show community support for the project during the grant-writing process.
