COOPER TOWNSHIP – State police arrested a Detroit, MI woman after a stop along Interstate 80 on Monday.
According to police Laverna March was pulled over for a traffic violation near westbound milemarker 138. She provided false identification and indicators of criminal activity were observed. She provided officers consent to search her vehicle.
Inside the vehicle a bag of white powder and brown powder were found. They could not be identified. Also found was five balls of a brown substance in plastic baggies.
Police used a K9, Allen, to check the substance and alerted to it. The substance was taken into custody transported back to the Clearfield barracks. The substance was tested and found to be one pound of heroin. The other substances are still unknown but are believed to be a cutting agent for the heroin.
March was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Patrick N. Ford and placed in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.
