CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville Golden Tide snapped a two game losing streak on Saturday as they took care of visiting Moshannon Valley 11-6 in Moshannon Valley League (MVL) baseball action.
The Tide had previously beaten the Black Knights 15-6 last Saturday.
Curwensville is now 9-4 overall and 5-1 in the MVL. Moshannon Valley is now 1-9 on the 2008 season.
Trevor Horton had a big day at the plate as he smacked three hits.
Head Coach Ryan Briskar of the Tide said, “Trevor played very well. He is starting to swing the bat well.”
Brett McCracken and Horton each had a double to pace the Tide’s offense.
Curwensville utilized some aggressive base running skills to help beat the Black Knights. The Tide had five stolen bases with Ben McGary, Horton, Jed Greslick, Sam Gardner and Derek Dixon all picking up one apiece.
Mo Valley was led by Craig Callovini and Dustin Stouffer with three hits apiece.
The Tide will be home once again on Tuesday at 4:15 pm when they host Harmony. Curwensville owned the Owls 14-0 the first time they met on April 9.
