CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School District Board of Directors approved a tentative, four-year teacher’s contract agreement with a unanimous vote at its last regular meeting.
Board Vice President Dave Glass said the contract has been ratified and is currently being reviewed.
“(Our) legal people are writing it up,” he said. “They want to make sure the writing is consistent with the last contract.”
Glass said further negotiations are now out of the picture and only the language is left for approval.
Business Manager Jason Barnett said the contract results in a 3.9 percent salary increase over four years.
He also noted changes to the health care plan.
According to Barnett, the contract calls for plan design changes with an increased deductible, increased co-pay for doctor’s office visits and a pre scri ption plan with incentive formulary.
He said the premium share plan costs $50 for a single, $75 for husband and wife and $100 for family.
“Our health care plan change will save us $175,000 in the first year,” Glass said.
Glass said the negotiations were handled very professionally and went smooth.
