PUNXSUTAWNEY – While the Punxsutawney Phil was making his weather forecast, area law enforcement were busy giving warnings of their own during Ground Hog’s Day festivities Saturday at Gobbler’s Knob.
The Punxsutawney State Police reported 26 written warnings and seven traffic citations.
In addition, police made one arrest for driving under the influence while reporting one public drunkenness.
Members of the Pennsylvania State Police Troop C, Punxsutawney, Troop D, Butler and Troop A, Indiana teamed up with State Police Liquor Enforcement Officers, as part of crowd and traffic control. The Punxsutawney Borough Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the event.
