DUBOIS – Bob Newell joined the DuBois Chapter of the American Red Cross as executive director.
Newell began his duties Jan. 2.
A.J. Sylvis chairman of the board of directors said, “We welcome Bob to the Red Cross and are looking forward to working with him on new initiatives to increase our awareness and service to the community. We currently have a very active board of directors and a strong volunteer base and are planning to expand in both areas. Bob will be a tremendous asset to the Red Cross and the community.”
Newell is no stranger to the area.
He is a licensed pastor in the United Church of Christ and serves as pastor of St. Peter’s UCC, DuBois and St. Luke’s UCC, Luthersburg .
He serves on the Penn State DuBois Alumni Society Board and is a member of the Clearfield Area Chamber of Commerce. He was formerly involved with the American Cancer Society with the Relay for Life.
He is a graduate of Jeff Tech and earned an Associate of Business Administration in 1981 from PSU DuBois and his Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in 1997 from Penn State University.
Newell said, “The DuBois chapter of the Red Cross is an historic, strong, and vibrant organization. I am looking forward to working with our Red Cross chapter to provide the highest quality of aid and service to the people of the communities we serve.”
He resides in Penfield with his wife, Tammy. The couple have a daughter, Holly Nonnemacher of Bethlehem.
