Purchase Line—The Bisons chose to play their most sluggish game of the year Wednesday night against the winless Purchase Line Red Dragons. Fortunately the Bisons were able to keep the lead the entire game and come away with a 56-37 win.
The Bisons started off hot by hitting four of their first five shots and leading the Dragons by as many as 8 points. Purchase Line clawed their way back into the game to only be down 14-11 at the end of the first. The second quarter was much of the same story. The Bisons continued to turn the ball over and the Dragons continued to capitalize. The Bisons were able to maintain the lead and go into halftime with a 23-19 lead.
The second half the Bisons came out and played a better half of basketball. The Bisons were able to minimize their turnovers and turn up the defensive pressure to slowly pull away with the lead. By the end of the third quarter the Bisons were able to take the lead 41-31.
The Bisons were able once again to get decent offensive games from Matt Shiner and Todd Hryn who were able to net 18 and 13 points respectively. Purchase Line’s high scorer in the contest was McAfoos who was able to score 15 points in the contest.
