CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners heard about plans for a proposed expansion of Colonial Courtyard on Tuesday.
The plan would add nine to 15 units, according to Ken Szala of the engineering firm Innovative Consulting Group Inc.
For the expansion to take place, an allowance for a setback from a right-of-way would need to be approved. Colonial Courtyard is asking for a change to 18-feet from the normal 30-feet.
Clearfield County Commissioner Mark McCracken noted that if the county decided to develop the Cornfield property, the traffic would run close to the assisted living home.
County Solicitor Kim Kesner asked the commissioners to table a decision on the issue so he could review the plans. Kesner stated that he would like to speak to the commissioners-elect as well to get their opinions on the project. Kesner indicated that decisions on the matter could take place after the administrative changeover.
Szala had other issues of concern, one of which had to do with parking. He was directed to take those other issues up with the Clearfield County Planning Commission.
