DUBOIS, Pa. – Curwensville Area High School graduate Brittany Barrett of Curwensville turned in a solid all-around effort for the Pennsylvania State University-DuBois women\’s basketball team in a 62-43 win over PSU-Fayette on \”Whiteout Night\” in the Multi-Purpose Building Feb. 10.
Barrett scored six points, grabbed six rebounds and had three assists and two steals as the Lady Lions improved their Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference record to 3-2.
The sophomore guard helped PSU-DuBois build 22-9 lead in the early going, hitting a free throw to make it 8-6 and then contributing four points in an 11-point run.
The Lady Lions were led by Missy Aul (St. Marys) with 15 points and 13 rebounds, Jessica Ellenberger (Emporium, Cameron County High School) with 11 points and 10 rebounds and Mylena Drake (Cowanesque Valley) with 10 points.
PSU-DuBois is 4-2 in its first season.
Barrett has totaled 44 points, 23 rebounds, nine assists, seven steals and two blocked shots.

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Clearfield native Ruth Williamson of State College (DuBois Central Catholic) scored 10 points as Susquehanna University downed Richard Stockton 70-57 in women\’s basketball action in O.W. Houts Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.
Williamson hit five of eight shots to hit double figures for the third time in seven games. She also collected three rebounds, one assist and two steals in 14 minutes for the 6-3 Crusaders.
The 5-8 senior now has 47 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and six steals.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Former Clearfield Area High School wrestler Kyle Keane of Bradford was the lone University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown matman to win all three of his matches in the Lock Haven University Duals Sunday.
The Mountain Cats, ranked No. 5 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association NCAA Division II Poll, opened with a 27-14 win over Clarion but then lost 19-14 to Lock Haven and 34-8 to Kent State, giving them a 2-2 record against Division I opponents. The Mountain Cats are 3-2 overall.
Keane registered decisions of Clarion\’s David Cox 8-2, Lock Haven\’s Mike Metzger 8-6 and Kent State\’s John Pycraft 11-7.
The redshirt sophomore 165-pounder raised his record to 7-3.
