HARRISBURG – The Department of Environmental Protection will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m., on Nov. 13, on Amerikohl Mining Inc.’s permit application for 138 acres in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.
The permit would allow new coal mining activity at the site.
Members of the public interested in offering up to 10 minutes of oral testimony may register at the hearing, which will be held at the Reynoldsville Fire Department, 411 Jackson St., Reynoldsville. DEP will also accept written testimony until Nov. 28. Testimony should be sent to the DEP Bureau of District Mining Operations, Knox District Office, and P.O. Box 669, Knox, PA 16323.
