CLEARFIELD – The next session of preschool programs at the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library will begin the week of November 5, 2007. The theme is “Fun Families” and registration is currently underway. During the session, preschoolers will enjoy stories, crafts, and games while discovering the unique connection that families share. The six-week session will conclude during the week of December 10th with a special family holiday event.
Baby time is a half-hour program designed to introduce parents and babies 6 months to 2 years to the rewards of the library and the importance of reading to children at a young age. The class times are: Wednesday 10:30 a.m. or Thursday 10:30 a.m.
Toddle time is a 45-minute program offered for children aged 2 to 3 years of age and Story time is an hour long class for the 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Both toddle time and story time incorporate stories, finger plays, puppets, games, crafts, music and more into a program to encourage a love of reading and libraries, to promote cognitive and language development, and assist in the life long learning process.
Class times for the toddler group are: Wednesday or Thursday at 11:15 a.m. Story times are offered on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. and Wednesday’s at 1:30 p.m.
