CLEARFIELD – A 55-year-old Clearfield man pleaded guilty to participating in a drug distribution ring in Curwensville.
Peter Miele pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver marijuana. On that charge he was sentenced to 1 to 3 years in a state correctional institution. Miele was part of a Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General investigation that lasted from Jan. 2001 to May of 2006. That investigation culminated with the trial of the distribution’s leader, Robert Prisk of Curwensville in July. Prisk was sentenced to 5 to 10 years in state prison.
Miele’s attorney, Ron Collins, asked for a county sentence for his client. He indicated that Miele was a valuable member of his community and provided letters from a number of people asking Clearfield County President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman for leniency on Miele’s sentence.
