DUBOIS – DuBois City Council approved a resolution authorizing the filing of the Enterprise Zone Strategy of the SDF EZ for one year funding.
GantDaily reported in August that the City of DuBois, Sandy Township and Falls Creek Borough were looking to create an enterprise zone. A one year implementation grant has been prepared in the amount of $75,000, with Sandy Township providing an in-kind match of $14,600.
The resolution authorizes Sandy Township to file the strategy and request formal approval and designation of the SDF Enterprise Zone by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
Information from an August meeting of municipal leaders indicated that the project would help existing companies in the area to expand through tax credits and/or grants and loans.
