STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Held to only seven hits by a quartet of State College pitchers, the Clearfield American Legion Post 6 fall baseball team dropped a twinbill, 11-1 and 12-2, at the State College Babe Ruth Field Sunday afternoon.
Aaron Sayers had two of Clearfield\’s five singles of Joel Dreibelbis and Tom Glass in the first game, which was halted after four and a half innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
Robert Lombardo belted a solo home run for one of only two hits off John Harpster and Beamer in the nightcap.
Isaac Butler and Sayers were the losing hurlers.
Clearfield, 4-9, will travel to Punxsutawney Saturday for a doubleheader starting at noon and then play two games at the Lawrence Township Rec Park Field Sunday. Clearfield will take on Central Mountain at 1 p.m. and Brookville in the nightcap after the two visiting clubs tangle in the middle game.
