Curwensville – Friday night the new bleachers at Riverside Stadium will more than likely be filled to capacity as its home football team, the Curwensville Golden Tide, hosts the Elk County Catholic Crusaders.
The 2006 Allegheny Mountain League match up between these teams saw ECC fight back from a 14 -0 deficit at halftime to a near win. The Golden Tide fans were on the edge of their seats as the Golden Tide hung on to beat ECC 14 – 12.
Defeating Otto-Eldred 26 – 0 in week 1 of scholastic play, Elk County Catholic is looking for win number 2 of the season. Curwensville will be looking to get into the end zone for the first time in 2007, having been handed a 48 – 0 loss in week 1 to Coudersport.
The Golden Tide and Crusaders go head to head this Friday night at 7PM in Curwensville.
