CLEARFIELD – At the request of state Rep. Camille “Bud” George, D-74 of Houtzdale, PennDOT District 2 placed a radar-controlled speed display sign along U.S. Route 322. The speed display sign will remain on location for about two weeks and will register the speed of vehicles traveling east on U.S. 322 on Rockton Mountain.
The speed display sign uses radar and determines the speed of oncoming traffic. Those vehicle speeds are then posted on the lighted section of the speed display sign. Above the speed display is another sign showing the posted speed limit for that section of U.S. 322.
The Lawrence Township Police will be monitoring the section of U.S. 322 where the speed display sign is located.
