State police had been searching for Darryl Lynn Higgins since May. According to PA Crime Stoppers Higgins, 23, sold heroin and Fentanyl in the City of DuBois between April 17 and April 30. The drugs were packaged with the logo “Top Secret” and “New Era.”
In late May Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. announced that a warrant had been filed for Higgins arrest. Shaw stated in a press release that the state police have filed two separate criminal complaints charging Higgins with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. The criminal complaints state that Higgins delivered packets of heroin stamped with the “New Era” red label to confidential sources.
Shaw reported that after laboratory analysis was conducted, the substances delivered were determined to be fentanyl. Shaw stated the substance is considered by law enforcement to be extremely dangerous and potentially life-threatening.
