CLEARFIELD – After the final bag of cotton candy has been eaten and the last midway game is won, there is one order of business at the Clearfield County Fair that has everyone talking well into the next week.
That matter is: Who won the giveaways?
The biggest prize was won by Dick Olosky of DuBois. He will have his choice of one of eight prizes being chanced off by the Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department.
Those prizes include $18,000 in cash; a 2007 Jeep Compas 4×4 or a 2007 Dodge Nitro SXT 4×4 from C Classic Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Clearfield; a package including a 2007 Yamaha Grizzly 700, a 2007 Yamaha 1100 V-Star and a 2007 Yamaha Raptor 50 from Mountain Extreme Inc. in Rockton; or one of several prizes from Fred Diehl’s of Philipsburg including at 2007 Chevrolet Colorado 4WD, a 2007 Chevrolet Impala LS Sedan, a 2007 Buick LaCrosse CX or a 2007 Pontia G6 Sedan. Pennsylvania sales tax is paid on all vehicle prizes.
Second prize, an Acer Travelmate Dual Core T2300E notebook computer, supplied by Eagle Haven Computers Inc., was won by Shirley Snyder of Clearfield. Third prize, a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer supplied by Grampian Hardware, TV and Appliances, was won by Fred Shu, no address given.
Edna Straker of Hawk Run won a $1,000 government savings bond given away by the GFWC Woman’s Club of Curwensville. A wooden dining set donated by Wal-Mart Distribution Center was won by Carla Prisk of Curwensville and a 20-inch color television donated by Wal-Mart Distribution Center was won by Betty Ross of Reynoldsville.
The John Lewis Shade American Legion Post No. 6 drawing had nine prizes up for grabs. The winners are listed below with their prize and the name of the donor.
