STRONGSTOWN, PA – Dave Satterlee of Home made his first visit to Dog Hollow Speedway a winning one on Friday night, picking up the Townsend Gas and Oil Late Model feature win on Power Performance trophy night.
Matt Shirk of Nanty Glo filled in for his vacationing brother, Scott and won the Texas Auto Ranch Four Cylinder Sidewinder main.
Repeat winners included Tom Snyder of Mayport in the Storystown Auto Wreckers Fastrak Late Models, Mike Laughard of Twin Rocks in the Hugill Sales and Service Street Stocks and Tim Laughard of Vinco in the Brush Valley Tire Pure Stocks.
Randy Smithley was shot out of a cannon at the start of the late model feature and beat Tim Snare Jr. into the first turn. Satterlee moved into second and Snare was in third. The race saw a few cautions early on with Satterlee trying to get past Smithley. Satterlee was using his patented high side trying to find a groove he could use to get the lead, but it was Smithley who gave Satterlee the lead when he bobbled in the third and fourth turns and Satterlee squeezed by on the bottom.
Snare then worked past Smithely for second with the top five all swapping positions before it was all over, but when Bob Sullenger waved the checkered flag it was Satterlee taking the win over Bernie Whiteford, Clate Copeman, Darrell Dick and Snare. Heat wins were divided between Randy Smithley, Dan Lee and Rance Garlock.
Ray Weaver and Tom Snyder were on the front row the start the Fastrak Late Model feature, with Snyder taking the lead with Dan Angelicchio second and Chris Knuth third. As Snyder led, Paul Michny was headed towards the front, and on lap seven he moved to second.
On lap nine Michny dove under Snyder on a restart going into the first turn and as Snyder moved low, Michny went lower, striking a tire in the infield and spinning into traffic. The race restarted with Snyder on the pole and Dave Padule now in second, but Padula wasn’t able to get past Snyder who went on to get his second win of the season. Padula was second, Gary Wright was third, Ron Smithley was fourth and Angelicchio was fifth. Paul Michny won the heat.
Tyler Hite and Mike Laughard led the street stock field to the start with Laughard taking the lead and pulling away from the field. Hite settled into second and Ray Charles was third. One quick caution on lap two regrouped the field and Laughard continued to lead, with Hite still in second. The top three remained unchanged until the white flag lap, when Josh Jacoby went past Charles for third. The top five at the line were Laughard, Hite, Jacoby, Charles, and John McCann. Heat wins went to Ray Charles and John Kinsey.
In the pure stock feature it was Derek Stiffler that took the lead at the start and led the opening lap. On lap two it was Rich Powell the took the lead and he was setting a torrid pace, until 12th place starter Tim Laughard took the lead on 11 with an outside pass. The rest of the race was all Laughard with Powell, Tim Good, Marshall Detwiler and Bobby Noel completing the top five. Heat wins went to Tim Laughard and Marshall Detwiler.
Matt Shirk and Dan Adams led the four cylinder sidewinders to the green flag with Shirk taking the lead and holding it then entire distance. Adams and Mark Maglet swapped second while trying to get the lead from Shirk, but that wasn’t the case, as Shirk wanted to win for his vacationing brother, Scott. At the line the top five were Matt Shirt, Adams, Maglet, Paul Little and Jason Bialowas. Heat wins were divided between Chris Yoder, Joel Forshey and Merle Billiott.
Paul Little won the four cylinder mechanics race over Tim Good and Denny Petyak.
