CLEARFIELD – At the request of the residents of Sabula, PennDOT District 2 placed a radar-controlled speed display sign along state Route 255 Thursday. The speed display sign will remain on location for about two weeks and will register the speed of vehicles traveling on SR 255 near the intersection of Wall Street.
The speed display sign uses radar and determines the speed of oncoming traffic. Those vehicle speeds are then posted on the lighted section of the speed display sign. Above the speed display is another sign showing the posted speed limit for that section of SR 255.
State police will be monitoring the section of SR 255 where the speed display sign is located.
