CLEARFIELD – At Monday night’s meeting of the Clearfield Board of School Directors, Tim Meckey, principal at the middle school, shared preliminary plans to meet the needs of those children identified as “at risk” in reading by Pennsylvania System of School Assessment scores.
PSSA testing results showed below acceptable scores for children identified as “economically disadvantaged”. Meckey explained that using the data from testing, a plan will be developed to meet the needs of those at risk.
Meckey stated, “Help will be geared toward students who need it.”
When asked about specifics of potential services, Meckey said that a provisional plan is in development to define and implement the needed services.
Specifics about these services will be introduced at future meetings.
In other business, the board introduced the new Human Resources Coordinator Kristie Young and James Quick, newly appointed middle school assistant principal.
Quick took a minute to discuss the Second Mile Day Camp that kicks off Tuesday. Details can be found here.
The next regular meeting of the school board will be held Aug. 27 in the middle school library.
