DUBOIS – Sandy Township Police Department made an arrest in connection to a burglary at Treasure Lake on Friday.
According to police, officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress on Bay Road around 3:30 p.m. The resident of the house was at home at the time of the burglary. When officers arrived a man had already fled the scene. A description was obtained and a search of the area was conducted by the Sandy Township and DuBois City Police Departments, state police, Pennsylvania Game Commission and Treasure Lake security.
Officers checked the houses in the area and found a door to a neighbor’s residence had been forced open and rummaged through.
A Sandy Township officer saw a man matching the description given earlier as a passenger inside of a vehicle. Contact was made with the man and he was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance. As a result of the investigation officers arrested Jeffery R. Jackson of Grand Rapids, Mich for the burglary of the occupied residence.
Jackson was arraigned and placed in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Officers are continuing the investigation into the burglary of the second residence and are looking for items removed and investigating the possibility of an accomplice to Jackson.
