CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Dingers will go into this weekend\’s Continental Collegiate Baseball League Playoffs at Kersey and Dagus Mines as the No. 1 seed after finishing in a tie for first place with State College Champ Baseball and the Kersey Diamonds, all at 8-4.
Clearfield\’s advantage was winning two of three games against each of the other teams. State College claimed the No. 2 seed via its 2-1 record against Kersey.
The Danville Bullets (6-6) are seeded fourth and the Mifflin County Stars (0-12) fifth.
Clearfield will receive a bye in the first round, which matches Kersey against Danville (Beimel Field, Kersey) and Mifflin County against State College (Fox Legion Field, Dagus Mines) in 11 a.m. action Saturday.
Clearfield will play at 2 p.m. at Beimel Field, tentatively against the Kersey-Danville winner. However, due to re-seeding for the second round, the Dingers would meet Mifflin County if the Stars upend State College.
The winner\’s bracket final is booked for Beimel Field at 5 p.m.
All action on Sunday will be at Beimel Field, with elimination bracket games set for 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and the championship game at 5. If another game is needed, the two teams will determine the date, site and time.
