HARRISBURG – The state Department of Transportation has approved a request from PA Waste LLC for an additional 90 days to answer a deficiency letter.
The DEP had several problems, including PA Waste’s failure to provide enough information for the department to determine whether there was a need to extend the 10-year permit to a 25-year permit. The department also has concerns regarding the proposed landfill’s financing. For a previous GantDaily article explaining all of the deficiencies reported by the DEP, click here.
PA Waste LLC has applied to construct a municipal waste landfill in Boggs Township.
In answering PA Waste’s request, the department granted the extension, giving the company until Oct. 15 to respond.
The company will now need to submit revised sections of the landfill application.
Should the Feasterville company fail to respond by the new deadline, the DEP could deny the application.
