Drifton — If Buster\’s Sports Bar wants to match or improve upon their runner-up finish from last year, they will have to make a strong run through the loser\’s bracket to do so.
Buster\’s was beaten 7-5 by Garden Spot, then came right back with a win over Pappas Remodeling 10-3.
There will be four teams left in the winner\’s bracket and four teams left in the loser\’s bracket when play begins Sunday morning at 8:00. Buster\’s will play a team to be determined at 9:30.
Bill Kazsolic was the losing pitcher in the loss to Garden Spot, while Jerry \”Jerk\” Watson was the winner against Pappas.
Down 3-0 against Pappas, Buster\’s fought back for the 10-3 win. They were led offensively by Steve Terry\’s three hits, Todd Stiner\’s three RBIs, Kevin Billotte\’s solo homerun, and Bob Wicker\’s double and two RBIs.
Moyer\’s Auto Body of Clearfield was eliminated in two games after losing to Forrer Dodge 5-1 on Friday; then losing to Eagle AA in the first round of consolations. Moyer\’s had a difficult draw by playing two veterans of state championship play.
