Drifton — The Old Town Softball League, which plays its games at Bucky Strunk Field in Clearfield, will be well represented when 28 teams take to the fields in Drifton to compete for the state title.
Buster\’s Sports Bar, second in the state last year, will look to claim a first ever OTSL state title. They begin play on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM against the Friday night winner of The Pub and Ivy Mortgage. Buster\’s received a first round bye as a result of their being the top team from PA at this year\’s York National qualifier. Their finish at York has already entitled them to participate at the Class C Men\’s National Championships in Killeen, TX over the Labor Day weekend.
Buster\’s, 20-5 on the season, will have the following players in uniform this weekend:
Manager Brian Barr, Brandon Billotte, Kevin Billotte, Travis Henry, Bob Gearhart, Bill Kazslovic, Chris Peacock, Andy Squires, Super Stew, Todd Stiner, Steve Terry, Brent Thomas, Jerk Watson (maybe), Bob Wicker
Also making the trip from Clearfield to represent the OTSL is Moyer\’s Auto Body. Moyer\’s earned their spot in the state tourney by winning the District 8 title. They will begin their quest against Forrer Dodge at 6:45 PM on Friday night. A win would have them facing off against the winner of Eagle AA and Garden Spot.
Moyer\’s will bring the following players:
Brandon Anderson, Adam Carr, Todd Fedder, Dave Findlay, Mike Greene, Ryan Greene, Dan Harris, Frank Hipps, Brandin Nelson, Scott Nishida, Ryan Renaud, Manager Dak Rea, Jackman Rumfola, Mike Sedgewick, Dustin Schoening
Last year\’s state champions, Bonnell\’s, is on the same side of the bracket as the 2 OTSL teams. The semi-finals on Sunday morning could be a repeat of the championship game from last year.
