CLEARFIELD – Recently-jailed police officer Matthew Houser is without a job after Tuesday night.
The Lawrence Township Supervisors voted to terminate his employment due to conduct that was unbecoming of a police officer. The termination date was effective on Tuesday night.
No other comments were given on the termination. Houser had been removed from the force before and was recently reinstated on the police force after an arbitrator’s ruling. In that ruling the arbitrator warned Houser of conduct that was harmful to his, the township’s and the police force’s image.
In March Houser had another run in with the law after a girlfriend accused him of assaulting her. On May 8 he was placed in Clearfield County Jail after President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman found that he violated a condition of his bail and Ammerman revoked bail.
