UNION TOWNHIP – DuBois-Based state police reported an accident that occurred on Saturday that resulted in all participants injured.
The accident occurred on Spruce Hill Road when a 17-year-old boy lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a right curve. He exited the roadway and struck a tree stump on the west side of the road. The vehicle continued traveling another 30 feet in the air then overturned two-and-one-half times before coming to rest on its roof.
The driver suffered minor injuries while a 17-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries and was flown to Altoona Regional for treatment after being ejected from the vehicle. Another passenger, Brandon Snell of Rockton, was also ejected from the vehicle and suffered moderate injuries. Another passenger received minor injuries to his head.
Both passengers who were ejected were wearing their seatbelts.
