CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough Council agreed to take a step toward following the recent advise of a consultant on Thursday night.
According to a previous GantDaily story, night Michael Weir of Local Government Solutions LLC based in Pittsburgh said the possibility of intergovernmental cooperation with Lawrence Township is a very good prospect for shared services and mutual aid agreements in the future. Weir also said that the two municipalities should meet quarterly to make sure that cooperation continues. To read that story, click here.
Council member Roger Baumgardner recommended on Thursday night that members of council attend Lawrence Township meetings on a rotating basis to better work together.
“I think it’s a good idea Roger,” said Jim Leitzinger, Clearfield Borough Council chairman.
Council will get a list of meeting times for the Lawrence Township Supervisors’ meetings before any council members attend.
