WEEDVILLE – A man in Clearfield County Jail for allegedly robbing the Medicine Shoppe in Clearfield Borough may now faces charges related to a robbery in Elk County.
Joseph W. Martell, 30, was arrested on March 9 for the Nov. 10 Medicine Shoppe robbery after fingerprints from that robbery matched those of Joseph Martell. In that case Martell is alleged to have held the pharmacy up with a handgun and demanded prescription narcotics.
Ridgeway-based state police sent a report out indicating that on Jan. 29, an unidentified person presented a handgun to a cashier and demanded money at Valley Farm Market in Weedville. The person received $390 and fled the scene.
Through investigation troopers charged Joseph Martell and arrested Barry Martell, 18, of LeContes Mills. Barry Martell was charged with robbery, simple assault, and related charges. He was arraigned on March 13 and is in Elk County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Joseph Martell is charged with criminal solicitation to commit robbery, criminal conspiracy to commit robbery and related charges. He is in CCJ in lieu of $500,000 straight bail.
