WILLIAMSPORT – The Department of Environmental Protection will hold a public meeting and a public hearing May 2 regarding Sunnyside Ethanol LLC’s Air Quality Plan application to construct an ethanol plant and a co-generation plant in Curwensville Borough, Clearfield County.
Both events will take place at the Curwensville High School auditorium.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include presentations by Sunnyside Ethanol and DEP, followed by a question-and-answer session.
During a public hearing that starts at 7:30 p.m., citizens will be able to provide up to five minutes of oral testimony about the permit application.
Additional written testimony of any length will be accepted that evening and until May 16. People who wish to speak may register to testify the night of the hearing and will be called in the order they are registered.
A court reporter will record all testimony and DEP must provide a written response to all pertinent questions and comments when a final decision on the application is made.
The air quality application is available for public review by appointment at DEP’s Northcentral regional office, 208 West Third Street, Suite 101, in Williamsport, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments can be made by calling Kathy Arndt at (570) 327-3693.
