CLEARFIELD – A 63-year-old Philipsburg man was sentenced to state prison on Monday for pointing a gun at another man in two separate instances.
Clair M. Welder was sentenced on charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threats. Welder was sentenced to 16-32 in months in state prison, received two years probation to run consecutive to that sentence, is to attend anger management counseling upon his release and must submit to DNA testing at a cost of $250.
The sentence stems from a July incident. It was reported that Welder pointed a loaded pistol at another man’s head. The other man took that gun from Welder, who then got a shotgun and threatened the man with that gun.
